Banking Fraud Attempt

WHAT IS GOING ON?
An ongoing banking fraud attempt has returned to our area. An automatic dialer is making random calls identifying the caller as American National Bank. It begins by asking you for your pass code.

WHAT IS THE DANGER?
If you are an American National Bank customer, you are more likely to believe they are legitimate. If you are not, you may fear that someone has opened an account in your name. As always, do NOT give out any information! If you give it any information, it will then ask for more until it has all your identifying and banking information. You are then a good candidate for bank fraud.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Merely receiving a call is NOT a reason to contact law enforcement. Hang up! If you have given out banking information, please contact your bank and make them aware that you have given out your information. If you notice any funds missing, it then is a legal issue, please contact law enforcement.
